His latest book, the subject of this review, is all about his own back yard or ‘The Kentish Alps’ as he refers to his local area. Sadly these days many people seem to write books without the necessary authoritative experience. This is not the case with Kev Reynolds and I am sure that you can complete any of the routes with total confidence in the route descriptions and also any other supplementary information provided. The range of walks is good. There are 40 in all ranging from 4.5 miles through to 9 miles. Each route has a comprehensive description, OS mapping marked with the route and colour photographs. In addition there is basic information on eleven long-distance paths within or passing through Kent. Verdict – an excellent buy based on the author’s solid reputation although I was slightly annoyed by the same people appearing in many of the photographs.
