Gear Review - Merrell Radius

The Radius Mid Waterproof, from Merrell, is a popular choice for those of you who need to enjoy a feeling of support when you’re out on a long walk or hike. With its numerous features, the Merrell Radius can cater for most tastes, as well as for both sexes.

Firstly, the Merrell Radius boasts an upper made of waterproof nubuck leather, thus keeping your feet insulated and dry in any rain-related situations. Such a feature is a hallmark with Merrell. What makes the Radius special is its Compression Molded EVA Footframe, which is designed to centre and stabilize your feet, keeping every part of it moving where it’s meant to. This foot frame is also ideal for shock absorption, accompanied by an air cushioned midsole to ensure that your feet won’t suffer the rigours of your walk, whatever the conditions.

The Radius is an excellent boot when it comes to walking. Its Multi-Grip sole, made by Vibram, is contoured to deal with your harsher than average terrain, whilst at the same time having plenty of grip for a normal everyday outing. The aforementioned leather upper will also cope excellently in more extreme conditions, working with the leather bellows tongue to ensure maximum insulation.

The Merrell Radius, when worn by women, also features what is known as a Q-Form Insole. This insole is slightly different to those boots made for men. As an example, women generally have a higher instep than men, so the Q-Form will be designed to match this change.
