Gear Review -The Eagle Creek Rincon 75L Backpack

kenn venice ladies sandalsThis Eagle Creek Backpack has a contemporary design and features a main 73 Litre pack with a detachable 20 Litre daypack. It comes in a choice of three colours - Emerald Green as illustrated, Night Time Stratus (Black) and Pacific Blue (as reviewed).

The modular design provides an efficient backpack that offers many possibilities for hiking and trekking with the added bonus that it is also perfect for general holidays and gap year expeditions. The idea that you can detach the daypack adds versatility to this excellent item of gear.

A lot of thought has gone into the design and construction with almost every conceivable option provided. The backpack is particularly well designed with the carrying straps stowed and less likley to suffer damage from baggage handlers at airports.

The use of rugged high-tech materials for all elements of the pack ensure that the backpack is able to cope with all eventualities ensuring rips and damage are minimised. Coupled with a lifetime warranty you can be sure that your purchase will provide excellent service for many years.

On test the backpack performed well. As might be expected this summer it suffered from some heavy rain yet the contents remained dry. The pack was comfortable to carry with adjustable padded straps and a lighweight frame. In use I particularly liked the central locking point to secure the contents. Packing and acess to your load was easy with a series of well designed pockets and compartments. Overall a classy item of gear!

Rating - a versatile backpack that is a perfect travelling companion.
