Should travel shoes and similar products be considered as serious footwear for walking?

Footwear is always a point for serious discussion and the chance to review some lightweight travel shoes could not be misssed. The results are surprising as they covered a fair few miles that would normally have seen my "big" boots in action. Were they worth their light weight in gold?
