Date - 27 May 2006 Are you a specialist in your area? Can you write good walk descriptions? Walking Britain is looking to expand its coverage of the UK. However it is important that standards are maintained therefore I am trying to find people who have expert knowledge of their area or some other specialist knowledge. These specialisms might include for example, very hard walks in challenging terrain, scrambles, moorland walks or coastal paths. It might even be short walks with historical content. This is the first stage of the process of selecting suitable correspondants so all I need at the moment is a relatively brief email explaining what you feel your strengths are. The more accurate you can be at this stage the better as I am trying to work out how to approach expansion in an orderly and well-thought through manner. I know many of you have time constraints and it would also be useful to know how many walks per month you would be able to commit to writing. Remember accuracy is vital and originality would be useful. If you feel your editorial skills are lacking then don't worry as I can tidy up any English etc. Finally a note stating whether you are able to provide digital images or photos that describe the walk. Don't worry if you only have normal photos as this can be worked around. Lou Johnson Email Link P.S. The areas that need some attention include Eastern and Southern England, Central and South Wales, and Eastern Scotland.
