Blea Tarn above Great Langdale is always a pleasant place to be. In winter it can be very special. With no road access due to snow and ice and few people to disturb the peace the superb view of the Langdale Pikes could be enjoyed in silence across the frozen waters of the Tarn  - Christmas 2000.
