Taken from the summit of Brown Pike just above the Walna Scar Road, the eye is immediately drawn to the craggy summit of Dow Crag further along the ridge. Much less dominant is Buck Pike half way along the ridge. Unseen but away down to the right of the ridge is Goat's Water. The domed mountain to the right is the Old Man of Coniston seen here from its least inspiring aspect. On the skyline (left hand side) can be seen the high peaks of the Scafells with Mickeldore clearly in view.
