The moorland of North Staffordshire is not often appreciated and
sees relatively few visitors. This view taken looking west from Morridge Edge
includes the Roaches ( right of centre above the small tarn) with the small outlier
of Hen Cloud clearly visible. On the horizon, between the Roaches and Hen Cloud,
can be seen "The Cloud", which provides great views across the Cheshire
plain. On the far right of the frame the pointed summit of Shutlingsloe, locally
known as the Cheshire "Matterhorn" can just be seen.
