Taken from near Croasdale, this view of Ennerdale Water shows many of the Western Fells to advantage. On the left rises Herdus, the end of the Great Borne ridge, with Bowness Knott below. On the skyline Pillar, with Pillar Rock clearly in view, rises centre frame with Scoat Fell and Steeple to its right. Continuing to the right Haycock, the slopes of Caw Fell and Whoap complete the scene.
