Ingelby Incline

Photo 026 - North York Moors

The photograph was taken from the top of Ingleby Incline looking west towards the Cleveland Hills. The ruins in the foreground are a bit of what's left of the old drum house, which was part of the Incline railway system. Completed in 1861 it was in use until 1929. What I like about this particular walk is that it covers a variety of terrain, from low level countryside to the high moors with spectacular views. There is also the added history of the old railway system and ironstone industry of bygone days.
