The shot was taken at El Diablo rapids, which lies in the mountains of La Union province, Philippines. The photo was taken during the dry season (December-June) and the water is quite low. During the rain season most of what you can see is covered by an awesome amount of water that thunders through the narrow opening. It is a truly magnificent sight when it is in full flood.
