- a beautifully converted detached barn in idyllic surroundings - Visit the Hallishaw
Cote Website Located on the edge of the Derbyshire Peak District, Hallishaw Cote is spacious and full of character. Situated on a small hill farm in Birch Vale, the property has its own private access road. Standing alone surrounded by fields perfect privacy is ensured.
Providing quality accommodation for eight people, the property has the benefit of double glazing and is centrally heated throughout. The lounge has a colour TV, video and living flame gas fire. Light and spacious, the Dining room has a large oak refectory table, which comfortably seats eight. There are two double bedrooms (one en-suite), plus two twin rooms with a separate bathroom with shower and bath. All bedrooms feature original oak beams and are furnished to a high standard. A fully fitted kitchen has all amenities including dishwasher, electric cooker and microwave. A separate utility room offers additional facilities including a washing machine, separate dryer and fridge/freezer. The price includes towels, fresh linen and all electricity with the exception of the tumble drier, which is coin operated. A pay phone is provided and all rooms are fitted with smoke alarms. Outside there is a south facing paved area with barbeque and garden furniture, also a safe secluded lawned garden - all with exterior sensor lighting. Alongside the property there is ample car space.
Information for walkers An ideal base for walkers, Hallishaw Cote has excellent walking right from the door. The nearby picturesque village of Hayfield, which offers a wide choice of pubs and restaurants, was the venue for the famous Kinder Trespass in April 1932. Since that fateful day walkers have enjoyed the freedom of the moors, many using the same route on to the plateau. Further north Bleaklow and Longendale provide some excellent routes with something to suit all abilities. Equally accessible are the western moors of the Peak District National Park. Seeing fewer visitors, this area contains the high ground of Cheshire together with some excellent walking in Staffordshire, including the dramatic Roaches with their gritstone outcrops. To complete the circle the north-western sector of the White Peak is also easily reached by car with the limestone dales around Castleton providing a contrast to the wild moors further west.
