This elegant Edwardian ‘gentleman's’ residence with woodland views offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Windermere & Bowness are ideal villages in which to base your short break or holiday as they are in the heart of the Lake District. Hilton House has truly outstanding architectural features, woodwork, stained glass windows & is stylishly decorated throughout with interesting pictures, books and furniture, we also have two 4 poster bedrooms.

All bedrooms have comfortable beds, colour TVs, refreshments trays, & hairdryers. All bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms

Breakfast is a real treat with a choice of cereals, juices, grapefruit, honey, homemade marmalade, jam & marmite from the dresser followed by a choice of warm dishes setting you up for the day.

The guest house is 5 minutes’ walk to the charming village of Windermere and 10 minutes’ walk to the lake and the lively little town of Bowness which nestles on its shore giving you a variety of interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and other places of interest such as the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and lake cruises.

Information for Walkers

Windermere offers a good base from which to explore the Lake District National Park with its almost inexhaustable supply of walks. There is something for all tastes from gentle strolls along the lakeside to some of the most challenging routes in England.
