Information for Walkers

Alnwick makes a fine base being conveniently situated for a wide range of walks. Not far from the coast or the hills and valleys of the Northumberland National Park, there is something to suit all tastes and abilities. Alnwick also has the benefit of being surrounded by varied and beautiful countryside adding further to the walking opportunities. Strenuous walks include hill walking on the Cheviot or along sections of the Pennine Way. Less strenuous routes include coastal paths with very little uphill work. These provide stunning seascapes including the island of Lindisfarne, historic castles and wonderful wildlife.
