The Swiss House has had its home in Castleton, in the Peak District National Park, for many years offering a blend of comfort and country.  The family run bed and breakfast is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists, business users or even couch potatoes!!! Our tasty full English or vegetarian breakfast includes a selection from the buffet table of various juices, cereals, fresh and canned fruits and yogurts. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, cooked to order, of local Cumberland or vegetarian sausage, bacon and eggs, oven baked fresh tomatoes, mushrooms sautéed in butter, baked beans and locally produced black pudding. Alternatively, we offer lighter cooked meals including Scottish kippers, scrambled, poached or boiled eggs, beans on toast. Our breakfast also includes hot toast, marmalade, honey, marmite or preserves and a pot of tea or fresh filtered coffee.

Information for Walkers

Castleton lies in the heart of the Peak District and there are many great walks straight from the door. The Castleton Ridge is one of the many "must do's" in the area linking Mam Tor with Lose Hill and offering great views in all directions. The village has one foot in the White Peak with its many limestone dales and the other foot in the dark peak with its high gritstone moorland that includes Kinder Scout. This unique location means that a wide variety of walks can be completed without too much travelling with something to suit all abilities.
