I suggested this Hertfordshire walk to Lou Johnson to celebrate the arrival of his first grandchild. He thought it might nice to publish. So here it is. Our youngest grandchild was between three and four when he first managed the longer version, but he did have the incentive of keeping up with older cousins. There is plenty to keep a child interested, and a variety of refreshment at the end. Between the green and the Apostles Pond it is popular at weekends but otherwise quiet. And on a warm summer weekend afternoon what better way to finish than watching cricket on the village green, played here since the mid 1800s. Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
