The villages of Norfolk with some pretty cottages and interesting churches provide the basis for this walk. The route does include substantial sections of walking along quiet country lanes so care is needed with traffic. The start is the small car park at Tyrrel's Wood (grid ref. TM205893) which lies to the east of the A140 a few miles south of Long Stratton.

After parking exit the car park and turn left along Wood Lane following the Boudicca Way east. At the first cross roads turn left into Anson's Lane and then first right. After just under a kilometre turn left into the village of Hardwick. Reaching the junction in the centre of the village bear left into Hall Lane and follow this lane for a further kilometre to a junction with Common Road (grid ref. TM220905). Bear left and follow the road north to Shelton and the attractive church of St Marys which is on your left. Take the footpath through the churchyard, exit on the northern boundary and continue across a field to a junction of paths (grid ref. TM221912). Continue straight ahead here and walk through fields to reach a road at the southern end of Fritton Common (grid ref. TM223918).

Follow Middle Road north through the common to reach Fritton Hall on your right (grid ref. TM225926). Take the road on your left opposite the Hall (School Road) and after 500 metres take the footpath on your left. This path leads across a field to St John the Baptist church with its attractive round tower so typical of this area. Turn left along the lane and just after the five large storage barns on your right, take the footpath on the right (grid ref. TM215923). The path follows the edge of the field with the boundary on your immediate right. At the end of the field turn left onto a path/track heading south which soon divides. Bear left and follow the bridleway south, crossing a road (grid ref. TM212919) to reach Mayfield Farm along their access road. Bear right after the farm buildings and follow the bridleway, joining the Boudicca Way, to reach the western side of Wood Green (grid ref. TM208914).

Turn left and walk south passing a tennis court on your left. Turn right in front of the cottages and continue to reach a road (grid ref. TM205911). Turn left down the road and when the road bends sharp right, continue ahead on the signed Boudicca Way. The path soon enters woodland continuing in a southerly direction. Follow the waymarks for the Boudicca Way as the path wends its way through Tyrrel's Wood to reach the car park and the end of the walk.
