Gowbarrow Fell is one of the less obvious Lake Ditrict Fells lying above the north western shores of Ullswater. Despite its lack of stature it is a popular place to walk with Aira Force a spectacular waterfall after heavy rain. Once on higher ground you are able to enjoy wonderful views of Ullswater and the fells beyond including 'chunky' Place Fell that dominates the southern end of Ullswater. Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
