This walk takes you through some of the best arable land in Hertfordshire. The fields are large but there are sufficient hedgerows remaining to provide variety. The villages and hamlets which are visited tend to be straggly, but it would be difficult to find villages with more thatched cottages and 17th and 18th century houses than Furneux Pelham, Little Hormead and Patient End. The church at Little Hormead is a delight both for itself and the view across the fields. Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
