The mountainous Isle of Harris offers a real challenge to walkers visiting the Outer Hebrides, the landscape is very lunar and a long way from civilisation. Navigational skills here are paramount as very few areas contain pathways or markers of any description. If you stray off course in this wilderness it’s unlikely you will be found! Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
