Pen yr Helgi Du is rarely an objective for a walk. However this is an ideal route for a half day excursion into the mountains of Snowdonia. The summit is one of the lesser peaks of the Carneddau, a wild and deseolate area lying to the north of the A5 between Bethesda and Capel Curig.
