Chipperfield Common has John Major’s three ingredients – a church, a pub and cricket on the green. This is a short Hertfordshire walk starting and finishing through ancient woodland, but mainly over gently undulating farm land. Except for a short stretch it is a quiet and peaceful walk. It should not take more than a couple of hours and is ideal for a summer evening. Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
