This walk visits the three large reservoirs and an area of moorland to the north of Bolton. Also included is the the village of Turton Bottoms. The walking is on good paths and very easy to follow.

The start is from The Jumbles Car Park (Grid ref. SD736140). Facing the Reservoir take the footpath in the bottom left hand corner of the main car park, dropping down to a bridge over Bradshaw Brook, beneath the dam wall. Follow the path ahead then turn right on reaching the lane. Proceed along this lane through the farm gates and farm with the horse stables each side of you to the waters edge. Just after the Sailing Club cross over a bridge (Grid ref. 733147) then turn left to follow the cobbled road, bearing right, up to the main road.

Turn left, then go up the narrow path on the right just before the house. Follow this path under the railway line, across a field and into the woods. At the path junction in the woods, take the higher right path to a stile at the boundary of Turton Golf Course. Turn right keeping close to the right hand fence (watch out for flying golf balls). On reaching the corner cross over the ditch, go through the wall and continue to walk in the same direction across the fields to join the drive coming down from Torra Barn, the house standing high on the hill to your left.

Cross over the cattle grid to the corner of the lane (Grid ref. 728152). Proceed through the farm gate then along the straight private road, passing Clough House Farm. You will pass many "Witton Weavers Way" signs from now on. Continue along the unmade road across the moor to Greens Arm Road (Grid ref. 718169). Turn right, then left down the footpath to a small car park and some steps to the waters edge.

Turn left along the path with Turton & Entwistle Reservoir on your right. On reaching Yarnsdale, with its small stream, go over the second bridge. Do not go through the five-bar gate into the woods but follow the wall on the left to a stile. The path climbs part way up the hill bearing right to join an old Green Lane passing three wall ends coming up from the woods.

At the end of the Green Way go downhill close to two large stone posts then over a stile and down a steep bank to the edge of the Reservoir (Grid ref. 715177). Turn left to follow the Reservoir edge looking out for the second path that climbs at right angle to the Reservoir path. Then, on reaching the Bridleway, turn right to a pub interestingly named 'The Strawbury Duck'.

Turn left on the road crossing over the railway line then left at the footpath dropping down the field to the top of Wayoh Reservoir (Grid ref. 730179 ). Continue along the path with the Reservoir on you right. The path climbs up near the dam and finishes in the village.

Turn right walking down the road through the village passing the Post Office on your left to Turton Bottoms. Still keeping to the road, cross over the River Bridge then take the cobbled lane on your left leading into a small new housing estate. Cross over another river bridge then turn right. Follow the left bank of the river all the way to Jumbles Reservoir. Staying on the left bank you will soon be back at the car park.
