Coledale still sees intermittent mining with the mine buildings dwarfed by Grisedale Pike

The Lake District has seen more than its fair share of mineral extraction although with a few exceptions the scars have largely healed. Coledale still sees intermittent mining with the mine buildings dwarfed by Grisedale Pike. The clear path leading up to the col (Coledale hause) follows the valley of Coledale from Braithwaite.
