The Straits of Riggindale provide excellent views on both sides. Looking east you can fully appreciate the shape of Rough Crag with its tiny tarn glinting in the sun. Below is Riggindale famous because it is where the only pair of Golden eagles can be found in England. In the distance rain clouds obliterate Gatescarth Pass with Harter Fell just recognisable in the gloom.
