Heading north from Great Whernside's summit you descend to Nidd Head

  

Heading north from Great Whernside's summit you descend to Nidd Head from where a grand view of Nidderdale can be appreciated. Angram Reservoir is the nearest of the two areas of water and was part of the reason why this dale was not included within the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
