County Gate is the boundary between Somerset and Devon on the A39 between Porlock and Lynmouth. Unseen by many motorists who pass this way is the excellent view of the valley containing the East Lyn River. Like much of Exmoor footpaths are well signed - a credit to those who manage the rights of way.
