Blaxton Meadow was reclaimed from the river many years ago

Blaxton Meadow - Blaxton Meadow was reclaimed from the river many years ago. Recently, breaches have been created in the embankment to allow it to flood at high tide and it is reverting to saltmarsh. In the picture the river is on the left and the marsh is on the right. At low tide it is excellent for watching water birds and recently little egrets (small white herons) have become frequent visitors from Europe.
