Lanthwaite Green - The walk starts by crossing the exit of Gasgale Gill - just visible behind the slopes of Grasmoor to the right. To the left of the gill the route goes up the face of the minor peak of Whin Ben before climbing the steep ridge to the summit of Whiteside.
