Shortly after leaving Pen-y-pass on the Pyg track you get a fine view of the east ridge of Crib Goch. The path onto Crib Goch climbs steadily up this ridge offering ever improving views especially across to Y Lliwedd. As you climb higher the anticipation also grows as you wonder what the famous arręte has in store. Rather surprisingly many walkers mistake Crib Goch for Snowdon from this angle and gain considerable height before realising their mistake!
