Y Lliwedd provides the route for second half of the Snowdon horseshoe and can be seen to good effect when ascending Crib y Ddsgyl to the summit of Garnedd Ugain. The well defined ridge between the two lakes, Cribau, offers a good scrambling route to Bwlch y Saethau and the Watkin Path.
