With 7 acres of private woodland and flower rich meadows, Cotton Lane Farm is idydically situated in the most beautiful and quiet North Staffordshire countryside, close to the Peak District National Park. Be sure of a warm welcome, a splendid home cooked breakfast and the opportunity to explore the beautiful countryside and marvel at the abundant birds, flowers, insects and wildlife.

We provide quality hospitality to people with walking, birdwatching and wildlife interests and facilitate those interests by providing luxury accommodation and good local food.

Leave your car and step straight from our door into nature. With walks through woodland, meadows and direct access to nature reserves; we are ideally situated for bird and nature watching. We are close to the Churnet Valley, Weaver Walks and the Peak District National Park. Dovedale, the Manifold Valley and The Roaches are close by as are the pretty market towns of Ashbourne and Leek.

  

At Cotton Lane farm you are assured of a comfortable stay and with only two rooms the tranquil ambience of our beautiful location is maintained to ensure you take away happy memories of your stay with us.

Both bedrooms are appointed with Egyptian cotton sheets and towels, ‘Skinnydipper’ toiletries (exclusive to RSPB), flat screen television and DVD, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, alarm clock and hairdryer. The quality experience of your stay is important to us and each room has a complimentary sherry decanter and locally sourced spring water.

Guests are welcome to relax in the farmhouse lounge with its wood burning stove, Sky television and DVD and a wide selection of reference and reading books.

Be assured that we only use the best local produce from local farms and try to keep our food miles to the minimum. We aim to use fairtrade products wherever possible and make our own preserves and marmalade. Our eggs are provided by ex-battery hens, Ruby, Aggie and Gertie. Whether you choose our full Staffordshire cooked farmhouse breakfast or would prefer something lighter, hot or cold we hope that you will be assured of a treat; we take pride in our breakfasts.

Information for Walkers

Cotton Lane Farm offers a perfect base for walkers wishing to explore the varied landscapes of North Staffordshire. Close at hand is the Churnet Valley often referred to by Victorian writers as 'Little Switzerland'. Also nearby is a section of the Staffordshire Way which can easily be used as a basis for shorter day walks.

Parts of North Staffordshire lie within the Peak District National Park with both limestone dales and wild gritstone moorland within easy reach. Dovedale and the Roaches are two of the most popular areas for walking with a variety of routes to suit all abilities and interests.
