Hardraw Force

Photo 140 - by Robert Kay

Hardraw Force

Description - My parents - now both in their mid-80's, have been keen walkers for over 60 years, and despite creaky joints they still love to get out and about. Every year four generations of the Kay family get together for two or three days between Christmas and the New Year in a different location, and a walk is always on the agenda whatever the weather. Picture taken at Hardraw Force, the Yorkshire Dales, on a blustery day in late Dec 2006. This will not be the best technical picture you get, nor the prettiest, but to me it sums up what the joy of walking is really about and how it brings the generations together in a treasured and shared experience.
