Lonscale Fell - Howell Monument

Photo 145 - Lake District

The Howell Monument stands beside the path on the ascent from Underscar to Skiddaw. This is a memorial to three shepherds of the Howell family who worked on Lonscale Fell. The inscription is very apt - stop and read it the next time you pass this way.
