Information for Walkers

Holwell Farm Cottages are located high amongst the most iconic Tors on Dartmoor.  The walking from any point of the compass is superb and will offer a wide choice of options from the mild to the challenging.  All routes will take in remarkable scenery, ancient landmarks, fascinating flora and fauna and the ability to be at one with nature and all its splendour.

Also provided in the cottages are a range of walking guide books, marked up walks specific to Holwell.  Guided walks that can have a specific interest for example wildlife or archaeology can also be arranged. Local interest includes more iron age deposits than anywhere else in Europe and within 10 minutes walk from the farm you will come across ancient sunken green lanes, medieval settlements, wild ponies etc, not to mention the wonderful seasonal sights such as the bluebells on Holwell Lawn; one of the largest open displays in Europe.
