Gear Review - Brasher Hillmaster II Womens Boots

Image of Brasher BootsThe Brasher Hillmaster II Womens Boots have quite a reputation to live up to with them being a bestseller in the UK for quite a number of years and these in particular have been enhanced with better features, comfort and a specially improved anatomical fit for ladies feet offering much more comfort than before.

In any walking boot durability and protection from the elements is important so these have been made with full grain leather that despite being tough still has a soft and supple feel to it and is water resistant too.  The lining is made using the GORE-TEX Performance Comfort Footwear fabric which provides not only comfort but is waterproof as well so the inevitable wet weather and trails won’t result in damp feet.

Other additions on the interior since the original Hillmaster boots includes memory foam in the collar and tongue which become more comfortable and conform to the size and shape of your feet the more they are worn plus the hell locking hook has been moved for a much better hold and ankle foam pads also give you plenty of added comfort which is essential with joints especially when walking.  The midsole has been made from polyurethane that includes Rand shock absorption and extra foot protection which nicely keeps your feet safe from traversing even the toughest trails which can often result in jarring impacts.

To round off the excellent Brasher Hillmaster II Womens boots are the updated Hillmaster outsole unit which has shallower and more angled lugs which allow for unrelenting grip on rocky ground and muddy conditions both up and downhill plus it has been carefully designed to eject any stones and clumps of mud so you never lose the total amount of traction and braking it offers.  Each sole also works in conjunction with the midsole to evenly distribute any impacts you receive helping to alleviate unnecessary strain on the initial affected area.

Style wise these are unquestionably Hillmaster boots which is an almost iconic design but have been slightly updated to look much more feminine without losing their classic walking and hiking boot look.  They aren’t cheap footwear by any means but with all of the performance and reliability you get from these it certainly makes for a good investment especially if you’ll be doing a lot of hiking and walking on the future.
