This variation of the Fairfield Horseshoe in the Lake District starts from High Close on the western edge of Loughrigg Fell. The route follows a clockwise direction offering a different perspective to the normal horseshoe route. It is a fairly strenuous and long day in the fells so ensure you have adequate provisions and enough daylight to complete the route. Wainwrights included in this walk are - Dove Crag, Fairfield, Great Rigg, Hart Crag, Heron Pike, High Pike, Low Pike, Nab Scar. A GPS File is available for download (see walk description).
