Walk from Great Kimble exploring the Chiltern landscape. The route includes the earthwork Grim's Ditch, Lacey Green windmill, extensive views from Whiteleaf Cross and a good chance of seeing Red Kites. The route follows paths and bridleways and includes a sections of the Chiltern Way and the Ridgeway.

The walk starts from the small parking area on the Risbrough Road (A4010) at the south end of the village (grid ref. SP825059). After parking take the bridleway (signed Pulpit Hill Fort) The rising path soon crosses the Ridgeway (you return here near the end of the walk), passes a ride on the left, and after 200 metres reaches a footpath on the right (grid ref. SP835047). Follow this path steeply downhill to a road. Turn right and then left to join a signed bridleway. Continue uphill and take the second path on the left. The path soon joins a track. Maintain direction ignore paths left and right to reach a stile and driveway at Slinger House (grid ref. SP837036).

Turn right along the driveway. When the driveway bends left take footpath ahead ignoring path on the right, The path climbs, swings left and then briefly right to reach a cross track (grid ref. SP838030). Go straight across the track. The onward path then runs beside Grim's Ditch which lies to your right. The path soon exits the trees and passes a field on your left. Re-entering trees maintain direction to reach a road. Go straight across to a lane signed to Lacey Green. Reaching a T-junction, continue ahead over a stile to follow a ride which leads to Lily Bottom Lane. Grim's Ditch is again to your right.

Turn right along Lily Bottom Lane. which soon becomes a track enclosed with hedges. Continue along the track for 1.5 kilometres to Redhouse Farm. Just before Moses Pitt Lane, turn right and descend into a valley to a lane (grid ref. SP836002). Turn right along Highwood Bottom which later becomes Kiln Lane passing Kingswood House on your right. The track then curves left and just after the first house on the right, take the footpath on the right. The path runs along the left-hand edge of a field.to reach a lane. Turn left up the lane and continue to a road (grid ref. SP821005). Turn right and continue towards The Whip Inn. Reaching a bus shelter, turn right through a kissing gate and follow path (Chiltern Way) with views of Lacey Windmill on your left. The path maintains directions across fields crossing two tracks to reach a track near Lily Bank Farm.

Briefly bear left and then turn left along Lily Bottom Lane and continue to a road junction at Parslows Hillock (grid ref. SP827019). Turn right and when the road bends right, turn left onto a bridleway. Almost immediately turn right and continue through trees ignoring side tracks and paths. Continue to a road (grid ref. SP830029). Turn left and then just before the first house on the right by a post box, turn right and keep ahead until you reach the end of a field on the left. Turn left along a bridleway skirting the edge of woodland on your right with a field on your left. Reaching a track junction, turn right. Continue to the bottom of the field and turn left to rejoin the Ridgeway. After 700 metres turn right onto Whiteleaf Hill and enjoy the expansive view across the Vale of Aylesbury.
