The village of Billesdon lies nine miles east of Leicester just off the A47. Centrebus Service 747 from Leicester to Uppingham provides a bus service and there is on-street parking in the village. However, do remember to park carefully so as not to inconvenience local residents.

To start the walk, locate the Market Place in the centre of the village. Walk along Church Lane past John the Baptist church and on to the outskirts of the village. Ignore the footpath on the left and then take the one on the right along the alleyway and turn left when it opens out onto an oval. Take the alleyway to the left further along and then go right when it opens out onto a grassy patch. Head along this well-marked footpath, through the fields, until you cross a driveway. Carry on through one field and then turn right immediately you are in the second field onto the unmarked bridleway and walk along it until it becomes a tarmac road. Follow this tarmac road going to the right of Frisby Dairy Farm. Continue past some houses. Go straight across where there is a crossroads and the road becomes a dirt track.

On reaching a fork take the right-hand one and pass a farm gate up to the Gaulby road. Cross the road and take the footpath going off diagonally right. Continue along this well-signposted route until you reach Billesdon Brook. Carry on parallel to the brook almost to the end of the field and then go left across a wooden footbridge and sharp right to another footbridge. After crossing, go right along the narrow alleyway and then across a field to another wooden footbridge. Into the next field walk straight ahead; following the signposts until you very quickly reach a lane which will take you into Billesdon Market Place.
