Walk Route Description

This is an easy walk or stroll round two reservoirs that lie in high ground east of Moretonhampstead. There is a small picnic area at the start of the walk which is the main car park for Trenchford Reservoir (grid ref. SX804823). This reached by a series of lanes from Moretonhampstead or from the A382 Newton Abbot to Moretonhampstead road at Slade Cross (grid ref. SX798812). The walk can be undertaken with a normal pushchair although in places the path is a bit rough and the occasional lift is required.

After parking, walk to the right with the reservoir on your left. A short path connects the car park with a tarmac lane. Continue along this lane passing over the dam to Trenchford to reach a road junction. Bear left here and walk between the two reservoirs. Take the path on your right once you have reached the other side of the water. Follow this path, with the reservoir now on your right.

Continue around Tottiford Reservoir crossing in by bridge/causeway. Once on the other side bear right and continue to the road. Bear right along the road between the two reservoirs. This time bear left on the other side of the water. This path leads you all the way round Trenchford Reservoir back to the start.
