This Exmoor walk from Selworthy explores the National Trust's Holnicote Estate in the Exmoor National Park. The route passes the beautiful, thatched cottages in Selworthy before climbing through woodland to reach the open moor and the trig point on Selworthy Beacon. From here the walk continues along the South West Coast Path from where you can enjoy scenic coastal scenery. The final leg of the walk descends through Wydon Farm and East Lynch back to the start.

The start is the small car park of All Saints Church in Selworthy where a donation is requested (grid ref. SS920468). Exit the car park and turn left along the road and then go right by the church. Take the signed path to Selworthy Beacon which climbs steadily in trees to reach a road (grid ref. SS915477). Go straight across and continue the short distance to the trig point on Selworthy Beacon from where there are extensive views across Exmoor.

To continue leave the trig point in a westerly direction. After 100 metres, bear right and head down to the Southwest Coast Path (grid ref. SS917481). Turn right along this National Trail and continue along the descending path for just under three kilometres to reach a fingerpost signed to Wydon (grid ref. SS938470). Turn right along this path to reach Hill Road. Go straight across and follow the track downhill, which takes a circuitous route to reach the access road of Wydon Farm (grid ref. SS938470).

Turn right down this access road and continue straight ahead at the first junction (grid ref. SS939466). Follow the narrow lane as it bends to the right and continues to reach Hindon Farm (grid ref. SS933466). Turn left and follow the path south. Reaching a lane (grid ref. SS931464), continue straight ahead. After 300 metres, turn sharp right along a track signed to Selworthy Beacon. Reaching East Lynch Farm, fork right onto a bridleway. Continue for a further 100 metres and fork right again. After 50 metres turn left over a stile (grid ref. SS927463).

Follow the fence on your right across the first field to a stile. Go right across the stile and then half-right across the next field to reach a road (grid ref. SS923466). Turn left along the road for the short walk back to the start in Selworthy.
