Coniston Walks and Walking Guide
Lake District, Cumbria
Find circular walks from Coniston, located close to the shores of the lake of the same name, and is dominated by the Old Man of Coniston which soars above the western fringes of the town. There are excellent amenities including cafés, bars and restaurants with a good supply of accommodation nearby. Public transport does provide links to many of the walks listed below.
All the walks are free to download and print, with mapping and GPX files. This area is close to many easy circular walks ideal for families. Old Man of Consiton and other fells connected to this famous summit offer excellent high-level fellwalking. Further afield the fells of Great Langdale are an easy drive away.

Walking in the Lake District National Park is amongst the best in the British Isles. The natural beauty has attracted many artists and writers through the centuries and today the same scenery provides the perfect backdrop to a wide variety of walks. The National Park is located wholly within Cumbria with Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick the main tourist towns. For many this is the finest area in England for walking with a wide variety of scenery.
