A Yorkshire Dales walk that starts in Wharfedale at Bolton Abbey and climbs through the Valley of Desolation to Simon's Seat and Lord's Seat. These summits offer a granstand view over a large part of the Yorkshire Dales. The return is via Howgill from where the Dales Way is followed back to the start passing the dramatic waters of the Strid.
It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
