A Yorkshire Dales walk that starts in Wharfedale at Bolton Abbey and climbs through the Valley of Desolation to Simon's Seat and Lord's Seat. These summits offer a granstand view over a large part of the Yorkshire Dales. The return is via Howgill from where the Dales Way is followed back to the start passing the dramatic waters of the Strid. Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
