This Hertfordshire walk starts and finishes in Wallington, a quiet Hertfordshire village with associations with George Orwell who lived here from 1936 to 1940. The first section using part of the Icknield Way (the 105 mile long distance path from Buckinghamshire to Norfolk) provides extensive views over Bedford and brings you to Clothall with its beautiful and fascinating parish church. You then join the Hertfordshire Way through typical N Hertfordshire country and quiet villages to Roe Green. From here quiet roads bring you back to Wallington. Suggested Maps It is recommended you take a map with you when following a walk route. The preferred scale is 1:25000 used by the Explorer series.
Note : If two maps are listed at the same scale then either (a) both are required for full coverage of the route or (b) the route is covered on both maps.
