Introduction to Walk 2047
Nat Park - Lake District - Lake District Far Eastern Fells
County/Area - Cumbria
Author - John Paterson
Length - 7.5 miles / 12.2 km
Ascent - 1700 feet / 515 metres
Time - 5 hours 30 minutes
Grade - moderate
A Lake District walk that offers a grandstand view along the length of Ullswater. Place Fell occupies a superb position on the shore of Ullswater and the views, especially over the lake to the Helvellyn range, are excellent. Although of moderate difficulty, this walk is reasonably long and the return path along the lake shore footpath from Sandwick, whilst beautiful, is not the gentle stroll which might be imagined from a glance at the map. Wainwrights included in this walk are - Place Fell. A GPS File is available for download (see walk description). A route profile is also provided.
Please maintain social distancing - keep at least 2 metres away from other walkers.
