This Worcestershire walk starts from Piper's Hill which lies to the south of Bromsgrove. The walk is full of interest including a hilltop church, the manicured parkland of Hanbury Hall and a pleasant section of the Birmingham and Worcester Canal. The route is generally well-signed and provides pleasant walking throughout.

The start is the small car park at Piper's Hill (grid ref. SO957652) which lies on the west side of the B4091 about 3 kilometres south of the A38 near Bromsgrove. After parking follow the track and bear left around the edge of a small lake (on your left). Continue south along a track and then path to reach a path junction after 200 metres to join the Hanbury Circular Walk. Continue south and follow the clear path to St Mary the Virgin Church. Its hilltop position provides an excellent viewpoint to appreciate the parkland surrounding Hanbury Hall.

Descend the lane to a road junction. Turn right and immediately left through a wooden gate. Ignore the path veering left and continue straight across the field. Head for the group of trees and a gate. Once through the gate take the left-hand fork and continue across parkland to cross a track (grid ref. SO947639). Maintain direction passing a large car park on your left to cross a driveway leading to Hanbury Hall on your right. Continue along the path heading south-west for 700 metres to reach a road (grid ref. SO940631).

Turn immediately right through another gate and continue past pond (on your right. You reach a path junction after 150 metres. Turn left and follow the path as it swings north-west past a corner of Lady Wood. Head to the left of a clump of trees in the middle of the field (by a small pond) and continue to a track with woodland on the right. Continue ahead to Summerhill Farm and turn left. Follow the path as it bears half right and cross the railway. Reaching the canal turn right and head north with the canal on your left.

Follow the towpath north. Pass one lock and continue under a bridge at Astwood Lane. 100 metres beyond Astwood Lock, turn right through gate to continue on the Hanbury Circular Walk. Cross two fields to reach a lane (grid ref. SO942652). Go right and then immediately left to continue along the Hanbury Circular Walk. Cross a few fields to reach a path junction in Piper's Hill Nature Reserve. Turn left and follow the path back past the small lake on your right back to the start.
