Conveniently situated for outdoor activities and all the major attractions of the Peak District.

Visit the Edale Cottages Web Site

Ollerbrook Cottages date back to the seventeenth century, maybe earlier. Built of local gritstone with flagged roofs, and set within the grounds of the owner's home, they merge into the little hamlet, amidst tall trees, at the base of Kinder Scout, the highest peak in Derbyshire.

Lovingly restored with oak beamed ceilings and real log fires, they provide all the homely comforts of a bygone age, combined with the modern essentials of central heating, well equipped kitchens and bathrooms with both bath and shower.

A large, colourful, south-facing garden with stunning views of Mam Tor is the perfect place for an al-fresco lunch. There is an attractive open pond, which could make the garden unsuitable for very young children.

There are three four star cottages sleeping 2-5 people, offering self-catering accommodation in the lovely Peak District valley of Edale. 'Wagtail Cottage' sleeps 2 people, 'Curlew Cottage' sleeps 3 people and 'Plover Cottage' accommodates 5 people. In addition 'Curlew' and 'Plover' can be linked to provide accommodation for up to 8 persons.

All the cottages are furnished to a high standard and are fully equipped with TV/video, CD player, microwave, electric cooker and hob. Each cottage enjoys its own sitting / eating area in a large sunny garden, and an adjacent field is ideal for ball games and running around. Use of a barbecue is provided and the cottages have the benefit of shared laundry facilities and a large freezer. Baby-sitting by arrangement. All towels and linen are included. There is use of a pay phone. Non-smokers preferred.

Information for Walkers

Edale is one of the finest centres for walkers in the Peak District National Park with many fine walks that start from the cottages. To the north lies the Kinder Plateau, which is the highest land in the National Park, with high and gritstone edges providing walks for all tastes including those with a sense of adventure. South, across the Vale of Edale, lies the Castleton Ridge with a string a peaks, including Mam Tor and Lose Hill, offering high level scenic walks. The limestone dales of the "White Peak" which offer many less arduous routes with dry stone walls and pretty villages contrasting sharply with the gritstone of the Dark Peak are also near at hand.
