Circular walk featuring countryside and the Kennet and Avon Canal from the village of Seend, near Melksham, which sits atop a ridge with views to the surrounding valleys and Sailsbury Plains. The ridge was a centre for iron-based industry with some evidence of this former trade.

The start is Seend Community Centre car park (grid ref. ST943613) which lies of Rusty Lane on the north side of the A361. After parking walk to the end of Rusty Lane to a path junction and turn left. The onward path runs along the Seend Ridge. After 170 metres the path bends left and continues to School Road. Turn right and reaching a T-junction, turn right along Bollands Hill. At the next junction fork left (signed to Seend Cleeve) and continue downhill for a kilometre into Seend Cleeve.

At the next T-junction, turn left and after 150 metres turn right along Park Lane. Which descends the escarpment into farmland. After 200 metres fork right and follow a grassy track with a hedge initially on your right. Maintain direction along the track to reach the swing bridge 155 over the Kennet and Avon Canal (grid ref. ST920612). Cross the canal and turn right along the towing path. Pass two locks to reach a road bridge by the Barge Inn (grid ref. ST932614).

Continue along the towing path passing two more locks and follow the path as it rises to Bolland Hill. Cross the road and continue east beside the canal. Pass another lock and two swing bridges and continue to bridge 149 near Sells Green (grid ref. ST951619) where the walk leaves the canal. Cross the canal and follow Spout Lane uphill. When the lane bends left by a cottage, turn sharp right along a track. Almost immediately turn left to join a footpath which leads across two fields to reach Rusty Lane. Turn left back to the starting point.
