The view west from Pike Road near Rainow, Cheshire

Caption - Late afternoon in January, looking west from the heights of Pike Low but below the summit. The first shadowed mound is Big Low above Rainow. Next is the northern end of Kerridge Hill with White Nancy visible. The ridge beyond is the termination at Alderley Edge in the NT woodland there. One has to guess at what lies beyond in the gathering haze.

The contrast between quiet limestone dales and wild upland moors provides the basis for a diverse range of Peak District walks with scenic variety the keynote. More Information
