Keeping dry in the outdoors can be problematic with conventional waterproofs often bulky and heavy. The people’s poncho addresses these problems by providing a durable, lightweight, stylish and compact alternative. During testing, it attracted many admiring glances from passing walkers.
Supplied in a zipped pouch (less than A4 size), the poncho fits into any backpack with ease and adds very little weight to your load. 100% waterproof, windproof and breathable, the poncho is a delight to wear and is easy to slip on when the rain starts to fall. The built-in hood is comfortable and roomy, with poppers providing a quick and easy fitting.
The sleeves are also adjusted using poppers and there is enough room inside to cover a backpack and keep any valuables dry. During testing in the Peak District, I was carrying a 35-litre pack which was kept totally dry. Repacking is a dream – a few easy folds and the poncho is back in its zipped pouch ready for stowing in your pack.
A variety of colours are available and with a retail price of £55 the poncho is excellent value for money considering its quality, durability and ease of use. It’s worth remembering that the people’s poncho is also suitable for cycling and general urban use.
